A decision about a meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents has not yet been made.

Deputy head of the Azerbaijani presidential administration, Novruz Mammadov, who is also chief of the administration’s foreign relations department, told the above-said to reporters, informed Haqqin.az news agency of Azerbaijan.

In his words, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev’s position is that Baku does not avoid such a meeting and is prepared for it.

Mammadov noted, however, that there needs to be confidence that conditions are created for certain measures toward resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs are trying to organize such a meeting this year,” he said. “If such a meeting is to take place, we will try to provide information on it several days earlier. Today, I can’t say anything specific.”
