YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia has described as “pearls of thought,” the Azerbaijani representative’s recent comments with respect to the Madrid Principles.

“He probably held talks again with himself and agreed with what he said.” 

Armenian MFA Press Secretary Tigran Balayan added the abovementioned commenting, at the request of Armenian News-NEWS.am, on the statement by deputy head of the Azerbaijani presidential administration, Novruz Mammadov, who is also chief of the administration’s foreign relations department.

“The time has come to liberate the occupied territories of Azerbaijan,” Mammadov had said. “The meaning of all negotiations lies therein. According to the Madrid Principles, in the first phase, Azerbaijan’s five districts must be liberated, the territory must be demined, and the return of IDPs to their homes must be ensured. In the second phase, the format of Lachin corridor must be determined, and Lachin and Kalbajar must be liberated.”
