YEREVAN. - March of the “No” front struggling against constitutional amendments in Armenia has kicked off from Yerevan’s Liberty Square. The march participants will walk along the Mashtots Avenue to Amiryan street, following which they will head from Nalbandyan street to Tumanyan street, ending the march in Liberty Square. (photos)

As reported by Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent, the march participants are at the moment moving along Mashtots Avenue, which is closed on one side. The police have formed a wall in the middle of the Avenue. Yerevan Deputy Chief of Police Valeri Osipyan is also present there.

Subsequent rally of the “No” front struggling against constitutional changes took place in Yerevan’s Liberty Square today.

The “No” front has been joined by Heritage, People's Party of Armenia (PPA), Armenian National Congress (ANC) parties and representatives of “Founding Parliament” opposition civic group, as well as members of  Alliance of Freedom Fighters.  

The referendum on Armenia’s draft constitutional amendments is slated for December 6. Pursuant to the new draft Constitution, the country will make a transition from a semi-presidential to a parliamentary system of governance, and conduct completely proportional parliamentary elections. The referendum campaign has kicked off since October 10.
