A Boeing 777 cargo plane, which was heading from Shanghai, China, to Memphis, in the US State of Tennessee, was forced to make an emergency landing in Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan, informed Kyodo News of Japan.

It was reported that the fire indicator signal of the FedEx US delivery service plane went off during the flight, forcing the pilot to land early.

The plane was unloaded, and the source of fire was found inside a container.

The fire was put out by the airport firefighters, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

The four crewmembers on board were reported to have been unharmed.

The Tokyo Fire Department is looking into what had caused the container to catch fire.
