Due to the high terror alert level declared in Belgium’s capital Brussels, public communication means didn’t work in the city today: shops and other service centers in the center are closed. Armenian National Committee of Europe spokesman Bedo Demirjian told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.   

“Trains and metro didn’t work in Brussels today. The market is closed due to safety concerns,” he said.

Demirjian also noted that the preventive measures taken in the entire city have also influenced the Armenian community: half of the pupils in Armenian schools were absent today.

Belgium authorities have declared highest terror alert level in the capital Brussels. This means that the threat of terrorism in the territory of the city is “maximally serious.” “Trade centers, public transport and large-scale events are potential targets are,” Belgian PM Charles Michel announced. The city’s metro was closed due to safety concerns.
