YEREVAN. – Leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member countries have reached a decision at the meeting of the EEU supreme council, according to which the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC)—which is the executive body of the EEU—has been commissioned to discuss, with the EEU member countries, the expediency of setting single customs duties on several goods and products.
Deputy Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms of Armenia, Suren Karayan, stated the aforesaid Monday in the National Assembly.
In particular, this refers to the goods and products, in whose case EEU member Kazakhstan, which has also become a World Trade Organization (WTO) member, shall apply customs duties that differ from those in the EEU.
Karayan added that, according to the respective decision, EEC will present a list of goods and products, in whose case EEU members Armenia and Kyrgyzstan likewise have commitments linked to WTO membership.
