Relationship between the European Union (EU) and Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) may only be developed in case the Minsk agreements are implemented.

European Commission (EC) representative Margaritis Schinas said the aforementioned commenting on EC President Jean-Claude Juncker’s letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding cooperation between the two bodies, reported TASS news agency of Russia.

“This letter is nothing new,”  Schinas  noted. “Creation of a common economic space is a long-standing goal and also part of terms implied by agreements made in Minsk. That’s why in this letter Juncker simply repeated his position, voiced after Minsk agreements were signed, and his readiness to implement all points of the agreements.

“It’s only possible to develop relations between the EU and EEU if Minsk agreements are implemented and all member-countries are engaged.”

The Eurasian Economic Union member states are Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and most recently, Kyrgyzstan.
