YEREVAN. - Authorities of Iran are interested in expanding their economic ties with Armenia, Iran’s new Ambassador to Armenia Seyyed Kazem Sajjad said today at a meeting with the Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan.  

The PM congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and expressed conviction that his activity will contribute to the further enhancement of ties between the two countries and nations. Abrahamyan underscored the importance of expanding the ties in different sectors and expressed conviction that the close cooperation of the Armenian and Iranian Embassies will give a new impetus to the implementation of joint projects. He also pointed out to the visit of the first Vice-President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri to Armenia last month and the business forums held in both countries.

Ambassador Sajjad said he is ready to make active efforts for the development and enhancement of ties between the two countries. The Ambassador highly appreciated Abrahamyan’s active participation in the enhancement of Armenian-Iranian economic ties and expressed conviction that serious success will soon be achieved in that field. Iran’s authorities are also interested in this, the Ambassador said.
