YEREVAN. – The National Assembly (NA) of Armenia on Tuesday ratified the protocol within the framework of Kazakhstan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The document was approved by a vote of 98 for, 6 against and no abstentions, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed from the NA.

The objective of this protocol is to rule out the adverse affects—for the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member countries—of EEU member Kazakhstan’s accession into WTO.

Pursuant to this document, in cases when Kazakhstan customs duties are lower in the WTO procedures than in the single Eurasian duties, the turnover of the respective goods and products will be permitted only in Kazakhstan.

The Eurasian Economic Union member states are Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
