YEREVAN. – Armenia needs to diversify its markets for wine exports, so as not to depend solely on one or two relevant markets.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Robert Makaryan told the aforesaid to reporters, and added that there is great potential for increasing the country’s wine exports.

But how competitive will Armenian wines be abroad? 

In response, Makaryan said experts from Chile—which is famous for its wines—have tasted the Armenian wines and given a positive evaluation on their quality and taste.

The deputy minister likewise expressed confidence that all Armenian wines will find the place they deserve in foreign markets.

At present, Armenian wines are exported primarily to Russia and several other European countries.

In addition, there is mutual interest with India.

Robert Makaryan noted that India is quite interested in importing Armenian wines, brandy, and some other alcoholic beverages.
