YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia will continue to consistently support the development of information technology (IT) in the country, and now we are discussing the matter of having a respective national program.

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan on Friday noted the above-said during his visit to Synopsys Armenia IT company.

Press Office of the Government informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that Abrahamyan toured the departments of education and production of Synopsys, and got familiarized with their projects as well as new initiatives aimed at the development of the country’s IT sector.  

Subsequently, a roundtable discussion was held, during which the discussants reflected on the avenues for the implementation of new programs and further development of the IT industry in the country.

And during a briefing with reporters afterwards, the PM stressed that there is great potential in Armenia’s IT sector, and that it is indispensable to assist in its implementation as much as possible.
