The Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan (ACSDA) has called upon the country’s government to refuse the services by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group co-chairs, who are engaged in a settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

ACSDA issued a statement in this connection, according to Azeri Press news agency.

The co-chairs’ call, which was made ahead of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) debates on the two reports regarding the resolution of the aforesaid conflict, had caused a démarche at PACE.

“The OSCE Minsk Group has no legal basis to intervene in Azerbaijan’s attempts to seek justice in other international organizations, and to try to keep its monopoly in the issue of conflict resolution,” the ACSDA statement reads, in particular.

On January 26, PACE voted against MP Robert Walter’s (UK) one-sided report entitled “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan,” but adopted MP Milica Marković’s (Bosnia and Herzegovina) one-sided report about Sarsang Reservoir in Nagorno-Karabakh, and entitled “Inhabitants of frontier regions of Azerbaijan are deliberately deprived of water.”
