YEREVAN. - Baku wants to capitalize on the situation at PACE after the evens round Crimea and the leaving of the Russian delegation.

Armenian Parliament Vice-Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan, who is also the Head of the Armenian Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am, commenting on the emergence of the anti-Armenian reports at PACE.

In her words, Baku consistently submits reports, since it sees that PACE is a format, in which Karabakh doesn’t participate and where decisions are taken not by consensus (or by majority which is close to it), but by a simple majority. And here it’s easier to carry out lobbying, something which Azerbaijan is doing. At the same time, Armenia is true to the principle of not discussing issues on Nagorno-Karabakh without the participation of Nagorno-Karabakh. For this very reason we remain committed to the OSCE Minsk Group format: it’s the only one which includes not only Armenia and Azerbaijan, but also Nagorno-Karabakh,” Naghdalyan said.

On January 26, PACE voted against MP Robert Walter’s (UK) one-sided report entitled “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan,” but adopted MP Milica Marković’s (Bosnia and Herzegovina) one-sided report about Sarsang Reservoir in Nagorno-Karabakh, and entitled “Inhabitants of frontier regions of Azerbaijan are deliberately deprived of water.”
