Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II today received the delegation led by the Georgian Defense Minister Tinatin Khidasheli.

At the meeting, the Catholicos welcomed the close ties formed between the Defense Ministries of the two neighboring countries, also expressing satisfaction with the cooperation on different state levels.

Referring to the relations between the Armenian and Georgian churches, Karekin II expressed hope that the problems present in the spiritual life of the Georgian Armenians will find their solution due to the decade-old friendship between the two peoples. 

Tinatin Khidasheli noted that she is well aware of the exclusive role of the Armenian Church in the life of the Armenian people.

Apart from this, the interlocutors touched on the necessity of maintaining the regional peace.
