STEPANAKERT. – President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh), Bako Sahakyan, on Tuesday chaired the first NKR Cabinet meeting of the year.

In his remarks, Sahakyan touched upon the negative impact of the 2015 global financial economic crisis on the country noting that thanks to the anti-crisis measures that were undertaken on time, however, it was possible to reduce this economic downturn in Artsakh and secure high GDP rates.

Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the President evaluated the 2015 socioeconomic activities by the Cabinet of Ministers as satisfactory.

As for the 2016 action plan, Bako Sahakyan noted the significance of efficient, sparing and targeted  usage of the budget means, and added that they should have a social orientation.

Also, President Sahakyan gave specific instructions for the proper implementation of the 2016 programs anticipated from the government and its subdivisions.
