YEREVAN. - The Armenian-Georgian good neighborly relations continued to develop and strengthen in the most different spheres in 2015.

The aforementioned is stated in the 2015 Annual Report, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia issued Tuesday.

According to the report, about three dozens of visits and meetings at different levels took place in 2015. “On October 30-31, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan made a two-day visit to Georgia, during which meetings with the Georgian President, PM and Parliament Speaker were held.    

On October 31, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, accompanied with the “Georgian Dream” movement leader Bidzina Ivanishvili, attended the consecration ceremony of one of the most ancient Armenian churches in Tbilisi – Cathedral of St. George.    

On February 16, Georgian Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili paid an official visit to Yerevan. 

On May 17 and July 25, Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan visited Batumi and then Tbilisi respectively.  

On September 27, Armenia FM Edward Nalbandian met with Georgian Deputy PM and FM Giorgi Kvirikashvili on the sidelines of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The sides had another meeting in Tbilisi on November 26. 

It is also noted that in 2015 Armenia’s Ministers of Justice, Agriculture, Economy, Energy and Natural Resources, as well as the Prosecutor General and Chief of Armenian Police visited Georgia.

“From the Georgian side, visits of Georgian Ministers of Justice, Corrections and Legal Assistance, Agriculture, Culture and Monument Protection, as well as Chairman of State Agency for Religious Affairs of Georgia were held,” the reports reads.
