YEREVAN. - In 2015, the mutually beneficial Armenian-Iranian cooperation continued. Specifically, on 26-27 January 2015 the Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif paid an official visit to Yerevan.

The aforementioned is stated in the 2015 Annual Report, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia issued on Tuesday.

According to the report, on 27 September 2015 the Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian met with his Iranian counterpart on the sidelines of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.  

On October 14-15, First Vice President of Iran, Eshaq Jahangiri, made an official visit to the republic upon the invitation of the Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan.  During the visit, meetings were held with President of Armenian Serzh Sargsyan, PM Hovik Abrahamyan and National Assembly Speaker Galust Sahakyan.

Besides, business forums were held in Yerevan and Tehran in October and November respectively.

During the year, Armenia’s Energy and Natural Resources, Healthcare and Economy Ministers paid visits to Iran.

 

For their part, Iranian Justice, Energy and Culture Ministers also visited Yerevan.

During the year, political consultations on the level of Deputy FMs of both countries took place in Yerevan. The parliamentary delegation of Iran also visited Armenia.
