YEREVAN. - The words of President of France François Hollande move the struggle against the Genocide denial to a new stage.

Vice-Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov, who is also the member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenian (RPA), said the aforementioned in the parliament today.

Hollande’s statement, according to which the bill on the criminalization of the Armenian Genocide denial must be re-included in the agenda, will shift the struggle to a new level, he added.

On the other hand, Azerbaijan’s defeat at PACE session in Strasbourg showed that Baku is at an impasse, and Aliyev is running a policy which is against his own people. He even accused the OSCE Minsk Group leaders of Islamophobia, Sharmazanov noted.

“The international community belonging to Muslim, Christian and other religious groups must condemn such a statement. Nobody must provoke new religious clashes in the region, including in our country. This risky undertaking by Azerbaijan has no future much like Turkey’s denial policy,” he concluded.
