YEREVAN. – The Japanese government will allocate 200 million yens (approx. US$2.5 million) to Armenia to prevent landslides.

The respective agreement was approved at Thursday’s meeting of the Armenian Cabinet.

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations, Armen Yeritsyan, informed that this assistance will be provided in the form of technical means.

There are about three thousand landslide zones in Armenia, and 168 of them are active.
