YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia on Thursday released a statement.
In the communiqué, the MOD refuted the Azerbaijan counterpart’s “information” that an Azerbaijani soldier was killed, supposedly, as a result of an act of sabotage by the Armenian side, on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border.
In the statement, the Armenian MOD noted that the report by the press service of the Azerbaijan MOD, and with respect to the aforesaid allegation, is completely untrue.
The Armenian MOD added that the said casualty in the Azerbaijani armed forces was a result of internal, nonstatutory relations.
“The Azerbaijani side is once again attempting to distort reality by way of misinformation, and to direct unfounded accusations at the Armenian side,” the statement also reads.
