YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, on Friday met with recently appointed British Ambassador Judith Margaret Farnworth.

Press Office of the Government informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that, first, the PM congratulated Farnworth for being appointed the United Kingdom (UK) ambassador to Armenia, and expressed a conviction that the diplomat will contribute to the further strengthening of Armenian-British relations. In addition, Abrahamyan underscored the further enhancement of Armenia-UK political and economic cooperation.

Ambassador Farnworth, for her part, stressed that the UK is interested in developing cooperation with Armenia, and assured that she is ready to give new impetus to the further development of Armenian-British relations.

Also, the ambassador noted that the UK stands ready to assist Armenia in its ongoing reforms and fight against corruption. The Armenian Premier, in turn, expressed a conviction that respective successes will be achieved.

In addition, Hovik Abrahamyan and Judith Farnworth reflected on the growth of Armenia-European Union relations, regional developments, and several other matters of mutual interest.
