Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan labeled as "laughable" the statements of the Russian MOD over the preparation of Turkish invasion of Syria.  

"I find this Russian statement laughable... rather it is Russia that is currently engaged in an invasion of Syria," Erdoğan said, state-run AFC reports.

Turkey isn’t planning a military operation in neighboring Syria, Reuters earlier reported, citing a source in the Turkish government.

"We have serious grounds to suspect Turkey is in intensive preparations for an armed invasion of the territory of a sovereign state -- the Syrian Arab Republic," Russia's defence ministry said in a statement.

“Turkey is neither planning nor thinking of a new military operation or land invasion of Syria,” the agency cites Erdoğan’s words, TASS reports.   

A day earlier, the Russian MOD suspected Turkey of preparing military invasion of Syria. "We have serious grounds to suspect Turkey is in intensive preparations for an armed invasion of the territory of a sovereign state -- the Syrian Arab Republic," Russian MOD Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
