YEREVAN. - A ceremony dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Armenian Constitutional Court took place at Yerevan’s Government Reception House today.

Welcoming the guests, Armenian Constitutional Court President G. Harutyunyan briefly presented the necessity of creating the court, as well as the 20-year-old path of the institution.

The ceremony was attended by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, National Assembly Speaker Galust Sahakyan, Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan, FM Edward Nalbandian, Karabakh National Assembly Speaker Ashot Ghulian, Karabakh Justice Minister Ararat Danielyan, Armenia National Assembly Vice Presidents, faction heads, MPs, Armenian Ministers and government members.

Heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia were also present at the event. The text of Harutyunyan’s speech was distributed to them in the English and Armenian languages.

Armenian Prosecutor General, Mayor of Yerevan, Presidents of Unions of Writers, Painters, Composers, Architects, Armenian province governors and University Presidents also attended the event.  

A number of new publications of the Armenian Constitutional Court, including the book “Constitutional Monitoring” by G. Harutyunyan, were distributed to those present in Armenian, English and Russian languages.
