Numerous police officers, firefighters, and coast guards in Greece staged a protest on Friday evening in Athens, during which they attempted to take a donkey into the Parliament, according to Proto Thema newspaper of the country.

These workers are against the pension reform plan, which will considerably reduce their pension.

About five thousand people had taken to the streets of the Greek capital city, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

The demonstrators had brought a donkey to downtown Athens, and hung a sign on the animal and which read: “Sirs [of the Greek government], our ‘donkey’ patience is running out.”

The police officers still on duty, however, did not allow their colleagues to approach the Parliament building, and with the animal.
