YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan today held a meeting with President of Serbian NA Maja Gojković.

Issues on the inter-parliamentary ties, which are very important for the Armenian-Serbian interstate relations, were touched on at the meeting, Armenian President press-service reports.

The sides stressed the necessity to develop the cooperation between the legislative authorities, which, according to them, is in the spirit of the traditional ties between the Armenian and Serbian nations. In this context, the interlocutors noted the significance of activating the friendship groups, which will positively affect the enhancement of ties in the framework of the parliamentary assemblies.

Ms Maja Gojković noted that since Serbia actively discusses the integration with the EU, at this stage it would be useful for both sides to exchange practice with Armenia as an EEU member-state, considering that Armenia also attaches importance to the development of cooperation with the EU.

The Serbian NA President also underscored the importance of holding high-level visits, expressing hope that the Armenian President will visit Serbia this year.

Issues on the cooperation of the Armenian and Serbian delegations at the inter-parliamentary assemblies were also discussed.

Apart from this, the interlocutors touched on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Ms Maja Gojković noted that Serbia is sure that the conflict can be settled only in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group and exclusively through a dialogue.

Serzh Sarhsyan noted that Armenia is open and sincere with Serbia, being interested in the development of interstate relations. He also accepted the invitation to visit Serbia with great pleasure.
