YEREVAN. – A prestigious center such as Stratfor—an American publisher and global intelligence company—should have checked the information.

Military analyst Arkadi Grigoryan expressed such a view commenting, at the request of Armenian News-NEWS.am, on the Stratfor data regarding the Azerbaijani military’s “reestablished control over Odundagh Mountain.”

“It’s a fact that Azerbaijan conducts a misinformation-based propaganda war for a long time,” he noted. “But it’s impermissible that a major analytical center such as Stratfor uses unreliable data.”

Grigoryan stressed that the Stratfor analysts were obligated to check the accuracy of this information.

“This mountain is under the control of Azerbaijan since 1994,” the military analyst added. “Accordingly, there can be no talk about a ‘reestablished control.’

“It’s clear that Azerbaijan, not being able to succeed in practice, is attempting to attribute itself the ‘glory’ of the victor by words—with the help of misinformation.

“But it’s just regrettable when self-deception turns into an ‘information source’ for a prestigious analytical center.”
