In the course of cooperation with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will need to neutralize the possible risks connected with the parliamentary elections of 2017.

Analyst Styopa Safaryan, who is also the head of the Institute of International and Security Affairs (AIISA), told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

Responding to the question on why RPA needs to cooperate with ARF-D, Safaryan said: “Cooperating with ARF-D, RPA will need to neutralize the possible risks connected with the parliamentary elections of 2017, since as a formal actor Dashnaktsutyun may join the opposition. To prevent this from happening, RPA needs to take free players under its control.”

According to the analyst, this cooperation may serve as a basis for the future coalition between ARF-D, Prosperous Armenia and RPA.  “Currently we see RPA’s policy of suppressing potential adversaries,” Safaryan concluded.
