There are several possible routes of supplying Iranian gas to Georgia, but they still need technical definition, Iran’s Ambassador to Georgia, Abbas Talebi-far, said, Interfax reports.

Responding to the question on the possible supplies of natural gas to Georgia from Iran, he confirmed this possibility, noting that the routes should be technically defined.

“The route via Armenia can be used, Azerbaijan’s infrastructure can [also] be used. In this case, regardless of whether it is Armenian or Azerbaijan, there must be a tripartite cooperation,” the Ambassador said.

The Ambassador also noted about the existence of two more possibilities, according to the swap principle.

“In this case there must be cooperation between Iran, Russian “Gazprom” and Armenia,” the diplomat said, noting that he considers this possibility as “the most realistic one.”

Together with this, Abbas Talebi-far didn’t exclude the possibility of barter between Georgia and Iran, so that Iran gets water resources from Georgia, supplying gas and electricity instead.
