YEREVAN. - Implementation of Nord Stream 2 is questiobale.

Polish Ambassador to Armenia Jerzy Marek Nowakowski told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent today.

Referring to the question on the possible step of Poland in case the project is implemented, the Ambassador noted that Nord Stream 2 is not an issue one side can discuss.

“The project partner is EU at large. This means that Poland won’t be able and doesn’t want to neutralize any economic initiative. But Poland is ready to stress the initiatives which are useful to everyone in terms of economic development. According to our opinion, Nord Stream 2 doesn’t unite but separates countries,” Jerzy Marek Nowakowski said.

And all such investment measures, the Ambassador continued, should be directed at uniting the countries. “Therefore, we stress that this project isn’t useful in terms of cooperation and economics. There are other possible solutions, which are better than Nord Stream 2,” the Ambassador concluded.

Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller earlier expressed conviction that Nord Stream 2 will be implemented in due time. However, Polish President Andrzej Duda stated that the project is a problem in terms of relations between Poland and Germany.

Nord Stream 2 is a pipeline project which is planned to pass from Russia to Germany. It is an expansion of the Nord Stream.
