Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev urged the new Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC),  former Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan, to jointly resolve the matter of Russian cargo transfer via Ukraine.

“We have to take actions in response,” he said during his meeting with Sargsyan, according to TASS news agency of Russia.

To note, the EEC is the executive body of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), which comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. 

Medvedev recalled that the last time he had met with Sargsyan was when the latter was the PM of Armenia.

“Now, you are a very huge leader, the head of a supranational body which manages the activities of other governments of the Eurasian board,” the Russian Premier added, and wished Sargsyan success, in this connection. 

Tigran Sargsyan, for his part, thanked Dmitry Medvedev for his trust in him, and noted that the EEU member countries have major expectations because the peoples and businesses of these countries await real results of the economic integration.

“We will show that integration yields results, and this will be an additional incentive for the integration processes,” the new EEC chief said. “And of course, your assistance surely will help us move ahead more effectively.”
