Famous Polish politicians Łukasz Abgarowicz and Wojciech  Lubawski have been decorated with Union of Armenians of Ukraine (UAU) medals.

To develop international cooperation and enhance cultural ties, the head of UAU, Vilen Shatvoryan, held a number of meetings in Poland on March 5-8. The UAU delegation, which visited Warsaw and Kielce, was composed of the head of Vinnytsia  Armenian community head Samvel Yeghoyan and UAU representative in Odessa, Artem Karajyan, Analitikaua reports.

UAU’s “Active Diaspora Politician” medal was bestowed upon Polish politician Łukasz Abgarowicz Sunday during the meeting with UAU head Vilen Shatvoryan in Warsaw.

At the meeting Shatvoryan noted that he highly appreciates the longstanding productive activity of Łukasz Abgarowicz and hopes for a closer cooperation in the future.

Shatvoryan decorated Mayor of Kielce Wojciech  Lubawski with “Holy martyrs and victims of Armenian Genocide” medal today for active contribution to installment of khachkar in that city in memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.  

Moreover, upon the initiative of UAU, agreement has been reached on renaming one of Kielce streets in honor of a famous Polish public figure of Armenian descent.
