British lecturer  Chris Stephenson has been released from a court in Istanbul, Turkey.

Security officers had found a Newroz (Persian and Kurdish new year) celebration invitation, with the signature of the pro-Kurdish “Peoples’ Democratic Party” (HDP) of Turkey, in the bag of Stephenson, who on Tuesday was entering an Istanbul court, reported the Kurdish Özgür Gündem website.

The police considered this to be propaganda of a terrorist organization, and detained the British academic.

But later, Chris Stephenson, who was taken to court, was released from custody.
