President Vladimir Putin has submitted to the State Duma for ratification the agreement on setting up joint teams that will respond to security threats along the borders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

“Implementation of the agreement will contribute to the development of the CIS member countries’ partnership in the domain of border protection,” the respective validation of the document specifically reads, according to RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.  

Armenia is a CIS member state.
