YEREVAN. – Consultations between the foreign ministries of Armenia and Georgia need to be intensified. 

Visiting Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze on Friday stated the aforesaid during his joint news conference—in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan—with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian.

The Georgian FM noted that everything needs to be done to develop the friendship relations between the two peoples.

Janelidze stressed that despite the difference between the foreign policy vectors of Armenia and Georgia, their partnership is developing.

“In the course of the meeting we discussed bilateral problems, [and] further development of relations,” the Georgian FM said, and he invited Nalbandian to his country.

During the meeting they also conferred on economic relations and the activities of intergovernmental commissions and working groups, and noted that these are successful formats also for business development.

“We also discussed regional conflicts, and we came to the conclusion that all conflicts in the region should be resolved solely through peace,” Mikheil Janelidze concluded.
