 YEREVAN. – The team composed of Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University and Fime Tech company today won the Minesweeper Robots contest, being awarded 600,000 AMD.

 “Five of us – mainly specialists in the area - worked on the robot. We gained 90 points during the contest: our robot didn’t explode on any mine,” member of the winning team, Harutyun Shmavonyan, told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

He also noted that such contests are important, since they estimate the faults and advantages of work.

“In the future we will try to correct all the faults of the robots and learn from our mistakes,” Shmavonyan said.

Gyumri’s Android team came second, receiving an award in the amount of 400,000 AMD.

Digital Cloud team came third, being awarded 260,000 AMD.

Minesweepers team representing Vanadzor received encouraging award in the amount of 100,000 AMD.

This year 11 teams from Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Vedi, Sisian, Goris, Talin and Artsakh took part in the contest. Nine of the teams included only pupils, two of them being comprised of students.

Minesweeper Robots contest is held by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) of Armenia in cooperation with Ucom.
