Armenia has improved its position in the annual World Press Freedom Index of Reporters Without Borders (RWB) international organization. 

In the 2016 World Press Freedom Index, Armenia is ranked 74th from among 180 countries and has improved its respective position by 4 places, as compared to the previous year. Armenia was ahead of such countries as Italy, Cyprus and Greece.

From the post-Soviet countries, Armenia is surpassed solely by Georgia, which is ranked 64th in this report.

Azerbaijan ranks 163rd, Turkey—151st, and Russia—148th.

Both Azerbaijan and Turkey have regressed, as compared to the year past.

The RWB World Press Freedom Index is compiled based on several respective criteria.
