STEPANAKERT. – The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) Defense Army has refuted the recent statement by the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense (MOD).

The Defense Army informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that on Sunday, the Azerbaijani propaganda disseminated a statement that, in the early morning hours of the day, Armenian “tanks approached the [Azerbaijani military] positions and opened fire, and then made an attack attempt with manpower support.”  

The NKR MOD, however, categorically dismissed this “report,” considering it nothing but another propaganda trick to disguise its own aggressive actions.

During this time, the NKR Defense Army, unlike the adversary, honoring the arrangement to cease fire, which the parties had reached on April 5, refrained not only from any aggressive actions toward destabilizing the situation, but moving armored vehicles or troops along the frontline.

“As for the misinformation which the Azerbaijani side disseminated about the destruction of one Armenian tank and the death of its personnel, accept this as another intonation of the propaganda mugham [folk song] of the adversary,” the respective NKR statement reads, in particular.
