If one of the sides wants to be friends with an individual state, it shouldn’t sell weapons to the adversary of that state, while Russia is doing exactly this right now, European Parliament deputy Frank Engel said at a press-conference held in Yerevan Monday.

According to him, both in Armenia and Karabakh he is told that Russia periodically repeats that it stands by them and is their ally, but at the same time Armenian servicemen and civilians die exactly due to the use of Russian weapons by the Azerbaijani side. “We all know that Russia is doing its best to involve few more members in the Eurasian Economic Union, Azerbaijan being one of the desired participants. Perhaps this very fact makes Russia develop wide trade relations with Armenia,” Engel added.
