A Turkish court ordered Can Dündar, the editor-in-chief of center-left Cumhuriyet daily newspaper of Turkey, to pay 28 thousand liras (close to US$10,000) in compensation for insulting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
After the court decision, Dündar tweeted, “If telling the truth is a crime, we will continue committing crime,” according to Nokta daily newspaper of Turkey.
Can Dündar was the journalist who had publicized the facts concerning the Turkish authorities’ sending arms to the terrorists in Syria.
