The Australian Greens MP Jeremy Buckingham posted on his Facebook a video in which he set Condamine River on fire. With the help of fire the MP clearly demonstrated that shale gas produced in the local mines forms a sediment and then bubbles up to the surface.

According to Buckingham, he was shocked by the force of the explosion on the surface and by the fact that the river was burning more than an hour. That anomaly indicates the poor condition of local the rivers, said the MP, according to Lenta.
