Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday had telephonic conversations with Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and urged them to maintain the ceasefire, US Department of State Spokesperson John Kirby said, according to the Voice of America Armenian service.

During his conversations with the two presidents, Kerry discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and the need for all parties to unequivocally adhere to the ceasefire arrangement.

Also, it was stressed that the parties need to conduct talks to achieve a fundamental settlement to the conflict.

The US Secretary and State and the two leaders also discussed the course of development of bilateral cooperation.
