On April 22, the Permanent Representative of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) to U.S., Robert Avetisyan, took part in the event organized by the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Montreal Chapter on occasion of the 101st Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

In his speech, Avetisyan touched on the Armenian Genocide and Artsakh issue, presenting the consequences of the recent aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh. Thanking all the Canadian Armenians for uniting round Artsakh in those days, he expressed special gratitude to the AGBU Montreal Chapter for keeping Karabakh-related issues in the center of the organization’s attention.

The event was also attended by Canadian FM Stéphane Dion, representatives of Canadian political parties and MPs, as well as leader of Diocese of the Armenian Church of Canada, Rev. Father Abgar Hovakimian and Chairman of the AGBU Montreal Chapter Executive Committee Shahe Tanashian.
