YEREVAN. - Azerbaijan prefers “not knowing” what is disadvantageous to it, Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian said in the parliament Wednesday.

“You can’t even imagine what response was given to our question inVienna, when we asked about the Azerbaijani ambassador’s letter of protest to the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, where the effectiveness of the ceasefire agreement was called into question. The high-level response was that the ambassador has no such instruction and acted on his own, without agreeing with Baku. It’s clear what this is done for: to avoid consequences of irresponsible steps. He that commits a fault thinks everyone speaks of it. It’s not the first time they pretend they know nothing when they are reluctant to speak about something.

They “didn’t know” what actions they unleashed against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), and how many casualties they suffered as a result of their undertaking. They “didn’t know” about the proposals on the incident investigative mechanisms.  They [also] “don’t know” about the five statements of the OSCE Minsk Group regarding Nagorno-Karabakh.

We can remind them that ignorance doesn’t escape liability. Time has come for the international community to take specific measures to hold Azerbaijan liable and return it to the constructive field. Then it will also be possible to continue the negotiation process. And today our discussions and meetings relate to the liquidation of the consequences during the Azerbaijani aggression,” Nalbandian said.
