Armenian Genocide should be called genocide. No other word can provide a satisfactory definition, said the US Sen. Robert Menendez, speaking in the Congress on the evening dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, reported the Armenian News - NEWS.am.
"It is time to call things by their proper names. We cannot call genocide in another way. What happened from 1915 to 1923 led to the annihilation of one and a half million Armenians. It is a genocide. No other definition can be acceptable, and we need to recognize it " the senator said . According to Menendez, who denies the genocide or the Holocaust, thereby enables others to commit those crimes again.
"Before implementing the Holocaust , Hitler had said who remembered the Armenians? We do. The Armenian state does , the Armenians do, and the US Congress does, and we will not give up until we achieve the recognition " concluded the US Senator.
