My dream has come true, since I bought a house in Van, Gayane Gevorgyan from Armenia told Agos Armenian bilingual weekly of Istanbul, Turkey.

Gevorgyan noted that she moved to Van, Turkey, in July 2015, and that the attention toward her has increased in recent times.

Gayane informed that she worked in Turkey for eight years.

“I always dreamed of having a house in Van,” Gevorgyan said. “I met a family from Van in Istanbul, and I went to Van for the first time with them.

“My grandmother was from Vostan [today’s Gevaş] of Van, whereas my grandfather—from Erzurum; but I liked Van more. I already have a home in Van, and I will invite my relatives and friends and show Van; this is our homeland.”

Gayane Gevorgyan added even though she is a dual citizen, she was told at the Turkish cadastre that even if she were only the citizen of Armenia, again there would have been no problem in purchasing a house in Turkey.
