WASHINGTON, DC – The US calls for all sides to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to return to the peace process.

Mark Toner, Deputy Spokesperson of the US Department of State, stated about the aforesaid responding to a question by an Azerbaijani journalist, according to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In his query, the Azerbaijani journalist presented the latest developments in the Karabakh conflict zone as an alleged aggression by Armenian armed forces, and he showed some photographs and asked the US State Department deputy spokesperson to “comment on latest escalation on Nagorno-Karabakh.”

Toner, however, did not wish follow the picture presented by this journalist, and stated: “We don’t want to see any escalation in the violence. We abhor such attacks by either side, and we need to see a return to the process that is in place to bring about a peaceful settlement to Nagorno-Karabakh. We call for all sides to de-escalate and to return to the peace process.”
