The regional anti-terrorist structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Government of India develop mechanisms of cooperation in the fight against terrorism, told RIA Novosti on Monday, based on RATS press service. Last week, upon request of the Indian government, there was a meeting between the director of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS Eugene Sysoev and the Indian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sujata Mehta, RIA Novosti reported with a reference to the press - service.

RATS representative reminded about the SCO summit in June in Tashkent, scheduled to sign a memorandum on the obligations of India and Pakistan necessary to complete their membership into the organization. The member countries of the SCO are Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Belarus, Mongolia, India, Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan have observer status. The procedure of admission of India and Pakistan into SCO started in July of 2015. The chairmanship in the organization passed from Russia to Uzbekistan during the summit in Ufa. The SCO summit of 2016 will be held on June 23-24 in Tashkent. The RATS headquarters are in Tashkent.
