YEREVAN. – It is high time for the international community to take clear steps to call Azerbaijan to order.

Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian, who is in Finland on an official visit, noted the aforementioned at his talk Monday with Timo Soini, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of this country.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the Armenian FM presented his Finnish colleague Azerbaijan’s hostilities unleashed against Nagorno-Karabakh in early April, and the efforts by Armenia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group Co-Chairs to address their consequences.

Nalbandian stressed that despite the numerous appeals of the three Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and the international community to fully respect the trilateral ceasefire agreements of 1994 and 1995, Azerbaijan has continued their violations, concentrating heavy weaponry and military forces along the entire Line of Contact with Nagorno-Karabakh, further increasing its warmongering and launching a provocative propaganda campaign on international arena trying to accuse the Armenian sides in exactly what it is itself doing, thus preparing grounds for new military attacks, which can have far-reaching consequences for the whole region.

The FM also noted that Armenia is committed to solely a pacific resolution of this conflict. He added that to create conditions for the resumption of negotiations, it is imperative to implement the proposal of the three Co-Chairs, to create a mechanism of investigation of the ceasefire violations, and to guarantee the unconditional implementation of the trilateral and termless ceasefire agreements of 1994 and 1995.

In this connection, Soini stressed that Finland completely supports the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries’ efforts and their initiatives toward ensuring an appropriate climate for these talks. The Finnish FM added that the Karabakh conflict can be settled only by peaceful means and through negotiations.
