A former Buddhist monk from Nottinghamshire, Britain, spent 35 years to create a traditional Japanese garden on a vacant lot, reports Lenta with a reference to the Daily Mail. 6 -year-old Buddha Maitreya planted cherry trees, bamboo trees, and other plants that rooted in the British climate. The pensioner also created an artificial pond and filled it with carps. In his park Maitreya is meditating and holding tea ceremonies.

He takes $ 10 per adult and $5 per child as an entrance fee to his garden. The former Buddhist came to the UK in 1980 after having been wandering around Thailand, Nepal, and India. He spent about 18 thousand dollars for the farmhouse and started to create a garden that was supposed to remind him of his homeland.
