YEREVAN. - The international consultation team supporting the army-building and defense-related changes in Armenia had visited Armenia from May 3 to 6.

During the three-day meetings, the consultation team together with the working group of Armenian Defense Ministry discussed the key approaches to the army-building, as well as the changes to be carried out in the areas of management, planning, military art and armed forces professionalism.

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan received the members of the international consultation group Friday.  During the meeting, Ohanyan attached importance to the necessity of the group’s continuous support to the changes aimed at enhancing the military capacity of Armenia.

During their stay in Armenia, the team also met with the Armenian National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs. The issues related to aligning the defense area legislation with the constitutional reforms and the idea of armed forces development were discussed.

Apart form this, the consultation team delivered a lecture entitled “Process of military decision-making”at Vazgen Sargsyan Military Institute of the Armenian Defense Ministry.
